田园生活

过惯了朝九晚五生活方式的我，退休后突然感觉到这段'无官一身轻'的生活，悠哉闲哉地游山玩水，才是人生最写意的日子。这趟遨游泰国北部的山区清迈、清莱等地的田园旅游胜地，品尝地道的美食，欣赏沿途的风景，让我想起诗人陶渊明的诗句'采菊东篱下，悠然见南山'的田园生活是多么的美好啊！有同感的妹夫则对我说：＂你不妨问问那位农夫，是否对田园生活有如你所想象的呢？＂哈！人各有志，他可能会说：＂你也来尝尝我们下田的生活吧！看看是否你所想象的一般？＂

Since my retirement, I have been travelling to places out of the busy cities for a change. My Chiangmai free and easy trip allows me to see places up north in Thailand where I could taste the local cuisines and visit places which I have been longing for years. It reminds me of the Chinese famous poet Tao Yuan Ming who wrote in his well known verse 'Plucking the chrysanthemum beneath the eastern fence I did, my eyes reach afar the Eternity of the southern green mountains under the sky." Is it not the life I have been expecting, I said to myself. But responded my brother-in-law, "Try ask the farmer out there how he feels about his life. He would probably says ' Let's swop positions. I have been bored to death!'.
